Club Weather Policy

The Spring season brings with it its' share of bad weather. With that in
mind, our general policy is that if it rains, games will be played so long
as the field is playable and does not pose a serious threat of injury to our
kids. Coaches who do not feel it is safe to play have the discretion to
cancel the games and reschedule them between themselves. In most cases,
teams should report to the field to determine its' playability and if the
decision not to play is made, the referee should be notified. If coaches
decide to cancel games prior to their designated start time and prior to
showing up at the field, they should contact me and advise accordingly so
that we may notify the concession manager so that she can determine whether
to open the stand or not. This is especially true of the games starting at 10:00 a.m.

Eventhough we do play in rain we will NOT play in lightening. The concession
stand will have a lightening sensor operating with a range of three to eight
miles. When lightening is in the area, the concession stand workers will
sound an air horn notifying everybody. At that time, all players and coaches
should leave the field and return to their vehicles until further notice. If
the lightening dissipates, the games will resume. If not, a decision will be
made to cancel the games. It is always a good idea to check the Weather
Channel or Weather.com the morning of the game to be aware of the
possibility of bad weather.
